I love it when restaurants use white paper as table cloths, AND provide a proper cup full of drawing utensils!
What could be better than crayons and food?
I found this one in the archives. The photo of the artwork dates from 2001. Nice to know image file formats from nine years are ago can still be read. We’ll wait and see how the data world look sin 2040…
I think it’s kind of fun to imagine what was going on when this was drawn:
- Was a trip to Munich and Oktoberfest in the works?
- Had I just returned from such a trip?
- The bread crumb soaked in vinegar and oil…were we eating at an Italian restaurant?
- What was on my mind, was I in dire need of a beer?
- Paper seems quite worked over. Either the drawing was being furiously undertaken, or there was something soft beneath the paper.
I know that crayons don’t have the quality and control as a good set of colored pencils or pastels, but the color, shading and effects in this doodle aren’t bad for a lowly crayon, are they?
